Lyn Strober-Cohen (they/them)Occidental InternLA Public Programs Intern

Lyn Strober-Cohen (they/them) is the Public Programs Intern at One Institute through the Occidental College InternLA Program.

Lyn is a Washingtonian, born and raised in Seattle. As a high schooler during the COVID-19 pandemic, Lyn worked as a radio journalist for KUOW in Seattle, using their platform to highlight stories of LGBTQ people who have been pushed to the margins of society. Creating those stories allowed Lyn to focus on LGBTQ life and subcultures, something they are still interested in learning more about today.

Lyn attends Occidental College in Los Angeles, where they major in American Studies with a double minor in Black Studies and History. Lyn has also worked as a peer adviser at the Occidental Writing Center since their sophomore year. After returning from studying abroad in New Zealand last semester, Lyn became a Writing Fellow, working closely with their professor to tailor writing workshops for a First-Year Seminar.

Lyn is so excited to be a programming intern at One Institute this summer before finishing up their senior year of college. Outside of the office or library, you can find Lyn lying in the sun listening to music, drinking a nice cup of iced coffee, or wandering around a flea market.
