Network with local educators for the launch of our new K-12 LGBTQ+ history lesson plans!
Join us to celebrate Pride Month, network with fellow educators, and learn about One Institute’s new K-12 lesson plans for teaching LGBTQ+ history!
One Institute, the oldest active LGBTQ+ organization in the United States, empowers teachers and students to bring queer and trans history into classrooms and communities. As the independent community partner of ONE Archives at the USC Libraries, we promote the largest collection of LGBTQ+ materials in the world.
This networking and resource-sharing event will take place at One Gallery in West Hollywood on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 10 AM to 12 PM. Parking information from the City of West Hollywood is available here.
Coffee and light breakfast will be provided along with the launch of new K-12 LGBTQ+ history lesson plans, authored by local public school teachers in alignment with California’s FAIR Education Act and History-Social Science Framework. Showcasing rarely seen primary sources, our lesson plans are produced in collaboration with the UCLA History-Geography Project, OUT for Safe Schools® at the LA LGBT Center, and ONE Archives at the USC Libraries.
Attendees will be also able to view the exhibition It’s Where I Belong: 40 Years (and More) of Drag in West Hollywood, curated by drag queen and children’s book author Lil Miss Hot Mess, on view through Sunday, June 29.
This event is organized by Trevor Ladner, Director of Education Programs. Please contact Trevor at [email protected] with any questions.
