Gabriela Callero (she/her)Development Coordinator

Gabriela Callero (she/her) is the Development Coordinator at One Institute.

Prior to joining One Institute, she was the Assistant Director of the Oxy Fund, Leadership Giving at Occidental College. The Oxy Fund is Occidental’s area of greatest need, which supports all things on campus and provides scholarships for the student population. As a scholarship recipient and alumna of Occidental herself, she felt grateful that she was able to advocate for the needs of the students. Most importantly, Gabriela’s time in this role forged her passion for development projects supporting the LGBTQ+ community. She was selected to support Occidental’s Queer Archive initiative and had the honor of working with the librarians, donors, and students to preserve the rich LGBTQ+ history on Occidental’s campus and in the local community of Eagle Rock.

As a student, Gabriela majored in Cognitive Science and minored in Media, Arts, and Culture at Occidental. Throughout her studies, she was fascinated with the intersection of science and the arts. This culminated in her Senior Comprehensive Thesis, focused on the benefits of physical art therapy for those with neurodegenerative conditions. Her time on campus is also where her roots in development began. She was a student caller for the Telefund Program at Occidental.

Originally from Seattle, Gabriela is happy to leave the rain behind and loves living in East Hollywood. Outside of the office, you might find her at the farmers’ market on Sunday morning, finding a new restaurant to try, or making some art in her backyard.
