Guided Tour @ STORIES: The AIDS Monument
Join us on Tuesday, June 23 at 8pm for an evening tour of the beautiful AIDS Monument, when the Traces are illuminated in remembrance of the candlelight vigils held during the epidemic. The tour will be led by Jude Schoenfeld, the Director of Public Programs at One Institute.
This 45-minute guided tour will highlight the strategy of those during the AIDS epidemic to gather, care for one another, educate the public, and engage in activism. Through our STORIES, we REMEMBER lost loved ones, CELEBRATE the heroic accomplishments of caregivers, and EDUCATE new generations about the history of HIV/AIDS.
This program is in partnership with the City of West Hollywood, where, during the height of the crisis, 1981-1996, the City suffered a devastating toll, losing thousands of its residents to the plague.
STORIES: The AIDS Monument is located at 647 N San Vicente Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069. Parking is available at the West Hollywood Park Five-Story Garage and can be validated for two hours at the first floor parking office.
Check out STORIES: THE AIDS Monument to see all that the Monument has to offer.
