International Whores’ Day (IWD) commemorates the 1975 occupation of Saint-Nizier Church in Lyon by sex workers protesting police violence and criminalization. Each year it’s observed globally through gatherings, protests, performances, education, art and other community events that center sex worker voices and organizing. This year Antonia Crane and Kayla Tange (Coco Ono) have partnered with One Institute, the Los Angeles LGTBQ Center, and Stripper Worker Center, to create an event that intentionally centers sex worker liberation within PRIDE 2026.

Featuring Sydney Rogers as keynote speaker, MC Syd Baloue, performances by Mylique E. Fawcett, FARRAH, and a panel moderated by One Institute’s Executive Director, Tony Valenzuela, on the alignment of queer and sex worker movements. IWD will include performances, resource tables, a dance party, and more!

This event is organized by One Institute and the Stripper Worker Center with sponsorship support from the City of West Hollywood, Los Angeles LGBT Center, and ACLU Southern California.
