Christopher Schwarting (he/him) is the Education Programs Fellow at One Institute through the Harvard Mindich Service Fellowship Program.
Christopher is a rising sophomore at Harvard University planning to study History & Literature and Social Studies. Born and raised outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he began conducting archive research while in high school. His senior year project on the press and periodical production of the city’s Gayborhood affirmed his interest in unearthing and preserving marginalized histories.
Before joining One Institute, Christopher organized coalitional spaces aimed at uplifting student voices on issues of scholastic inclusion and educational representation. An avid writer, he contributes to The Crimson’s magazine and has been recognized by the National YoungArts Foundation, Rider University, Ringling College, and others.
Christopher believes in the power of the arts and humanities to further community-oriented storytelling and empowerment. At school, he enjoys writing poems, singing a capella, and searching for pastries.
