Denis Cagna (he/him)Treasurer

    Denis Cagna (he/him) was born in Long Island, New York, raised in Orlando, Florida, and moved to Los Angeles after receiving his graduate degree in Finance and Strategy from MIT in 1987. Denis spent 30 years with Ernst & Young as a financial consultant specializing in designing and installing new accounting systems, processes and reports for Fortune 500 companies.  In this capacity he spent four years living overseas in Egypt, Japan, and China, as well as working in 7 additional countries over 5 continents.

    Retiring in 2023, Denis now spends his time with LGBTQ+ non-profits, where he serves as Treasurer on the Board of APLA Health in Los Angeles, after previously serving 9 years on the Board of Alliance for Housing and Healing.  Along with his husband Carlos Medina, who serves on the Board of the Los Angeles LGBT Center, Denis is actively involved in supporting national and local LGBT organizations, including ACLU, Lambda Legal, Outright International, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center of New York City, and the Williams Institute.  An avid reader and contributor to The Gay & Lesbian Review, Denis is passionate about LGBTQ+ history, and the contributions our community has made to the greater society.
