Network with local educators and explore the AIDS Monument in West Hollywood!
Join us at STORIES: The AIDS Monument to celebrate Pride Month, network with fellow educators, and learn about One Institute’s educator resources on LGBTQ+ and HIV/AIDS histories!
One Institute, the oldest active LGBTQ+ organization in the United States, empowers teachers and students to bring queer, trans, and HIV/AIDS histories into classrooms and communities. As the independent community partner of ONE Archives at the USC Libraries, we promote the largest collection of LGBTQ+ materials in the world. In partnership with the City of West Hollywood, we steward K-12 and public programs at STORIES: The AIDS Monument.
The AIDS Monument remembers those we lost, those who survived, the protests and vigils, the caregivers; celebrates those who step up when others step away; and educates future generations through lessons learned. The Monument is located in West Hollywood Park, 647 N. San Vicente Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069, 1/2 block north of the West Hollywood Library (Directions/Map).
This networking and resource-sharing event will take place on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 10 AM to 12 PM. Parking information from the City of West Hollywood is available here. Light refreshments will be provided.
Are you a K-12 teacher interested in developing standards-aligned lesson plans on local HIV/AIDS histories? Apply for our summer teacher symposium by June 14!
This event is organized by Trevor Ladner, Director of Education & Advocacy. Please contact Trevor at [email protected] with any questions.
