May 4, 2021 – Educators’ Webinar – From Stonewall to Pride

Time

Tues. May 4, 2021
3:30 PM PDT

The movement for queer liberation developed over time through different events. After LGBTQ demonstrations, protests, and sit-ins took place in various U.S. locations in the second half of the 1960s, the 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York became the mostimportant event in queer history. What perspectives on Stonewall should be taught in California history classrooms? What are some of the myths about Stonewall that should be challenged? Join this webinar to better understand the context of Stonewall in both LGBTQ history and the broader civil rights history of the 1960s. This webinar will feature a presentation by historian and celebrated scholar, Dr. Marc Stein, and a model lesson by Patty Lambert, teacher from Salinas Union High School District.

The cost of this one-time webinar is $30. To ensure quality experience, space is limited. Register today to claim a spot!

This webinar is co-organized by One Institute and Our Family Coalition.
