El Yang (any pronouns) is the Communications Intern at One Institute through the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture.
El is an artist and designer born and raised in the Bay Area. With an interest in all things arts, entertainment, and design, El is a junior at UCLA majoring in Design Media Arts with a double minor in Digital Humanities and Environmental Systems and Society. Striving to learn and explore different tools and mediums, El’s multidisciplinary portfolio spans animation, posters, and video games. El’s work focuses on marginalized identity, community and social interaction, and environment. El believes in the power of art, technology, and language in their ability to connect people and strengthen allyship between communities.
At school, El is a design contributor for UCLA’s student newspaper, Daily Bruin. In their free time, El likes binge-watching TV, creating illustrations, organizing and creating zines, interacting with people and community, and trying different foods.
