Isabel Jansen-Montoya (she/her) is the Exhibitions and Programming Intern through the Getty Marrow Undergraduate Internships program.
Isabel recently graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts in History and is beginning a Master of Library and Information Science at the University of California Los Angeles in Fall 2026. Her academic work focuses on the preservation and presentation of countercultural ephemera and has covered subjects ranging from 16th Century English balladry to contemporary student protest movements.
Prior to joining One Institute, Isabel worked at the USC Pacific Asia Museum developing online exhibitions and supporting the digitization of PAM’s hand fan and glass plate negative collections. She has also worked as Programming Student Assistant at the USC LGBTQ+ Student Center, planning and running events to support the student population on campus. At these positions, she developed a keen interest in the intersection of public programming and public history, which she hopes to explore further at One Institute.
Isabel is passionate about digital collections, accessibility, and supporting historically silenced voices through both artistic and academic work. In her free time, she enjoys watching basketball, playing pickup soccer, and reading contemporary trans literature.
